Tangy Greek Salad Dressing

043012 GREEK DRESSING 2

We had this salad with our Meatless Monday meal that I’ll be posting about on, well, Monday. :D

I thought it was so pretty I had to share.

The salad had Romaine, Iceberg, Red Pepper, Tomato, Red Cabbage, Cucumber, Carrot, Celery, Onion, Feta and Kalamata Olives.

The dressing came from Allrecipes and was adapted based on reviews.

Greek Salad Dressing

  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • dash of pepper

Combine all in a mason jar or other jar with tight fitting lid.  Shake well to combine.  Let rest at room temperature a couple hours for flavors to blend.

Mr. Foodie found this to be a little too tart for him but it was just right for me.

Is that a gorgeous salad or what? :)

I made this dressing yesterday and LOVED it. I drizzled it on the filling for wraps I made. (I posted the wraps recipe on my blog today and included a link to the dressing recipe on your blog). And I had the dressing on a side salad. It’s so good! Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be adding this to my recipe book. :0)

I hope you like it. Mr. Foodie said it was too tangy for him, even after I added that little bit of sugar but it was perfect for me, especially up against the Feta and olives.

Awesome, thanks! I haven’t made Greek dressing before, but I love it. I bookmarked this to try later.

It is on the tangy side but that’s the way I like it. I hope you enjoy it!
