This is going to make me sound like a total ass and I deserve every boo-hiss I get for this one.
Back on March 11th my blogging friend Efelants and Woozles (LOVE that name!!) nominated me for the Liebster Award. She was one of my very first followers and commentors and I appreciated her support and enthusiasm for my blog. I spent an entire afternoon trying to figure out how to insert the badge in to my sidebar. I was under the impression I needed an HTML code or some such thing for WordPress and after reviewing all their tutorials and help sections and googling every thing I could think of I couldn’t find the stinkin code or a proper understanding of how to do it. That was also the same time I was trying to figure out how to make and tweak my Facebook Page and learn about the new timeline thing they started and was all caught up in that fiasco. Since I’m not a computer person I was left feeling frustrated and feeling so stupid that I decided just to drop it. About a week or two later Mr. Foodie and I sat here at my desk for another two hours and figured out how to insert the Neighborhood Watch badge but I was so embarrassed over the length of time that had passed I continued to ignore the Liebster Award.
Well, today I was nominted by Denny of What To Cook? for the Sunshine Blog Award and there’s no way I could post his badge and not the Liebster. So, in the spirit of better late than never, I’m making amends today!
Thank you Efelants and Woozles for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I am SO sorry it took me almost a month to get this taken care of and I apologize sincerely if your feelings were hurt!! EW has a great little blog where she shares all her neat crafty things and DIY projects. She just finished installing a tile floor so if that’s on your honey-do-list any time soon check out her blog for some pointers.
About the Liebster Award…

The Burlesque Baker – She’s so bright and bubbly. You can read it in her posts and through the comments we’ve shared back and forth. And in case you missed it, I made her Popover recipe that drew a lot of attention to my site so I wanted to show my appreciation.
Mid Century Meals – a cookbook collector who posts about the classic dishes from the 50′s and 60′s that many of us grew up with. She also adds little bits of fun trivia.
Real Food, Real Deals – a mom trying to feed her family healthy foods while still getting a good bargain at the grocery store. Gotta love that.
Texas Military Wife - having once been a young military wife myself (a very long time ago) I try to support them whenever and wherever I can. In this case its through the blogoshpere. Oh, and she had me hooked at her version of Tyler Florence’s Chicken Parmigiana. Cheesy Goodnes, anyone? Check it out.
What To Cook? – this may seem like a little brown nosing but it’s sincere. I really enjoy Denny’s recipes and ideas. We seem to have many of the same tastes and I can always count on him to leave a friendly comment or Like my posts. Don’t miss his blog!

Photographs and Recipes – Diane is quickly becoming one of my favorite bloggers and we comment frequently with each other. She has a terrific sense of humor and writing style. The Cook’s Life – her tag line is Real Food. By and for real people. Need I say more?
The Taste Space – this blog is my secret obsession. I’ve spent so much time over there I almost feel like a stalker! Janet is Vegan and while Mr. Foodie and I sometimes struggle to get a day’s worth of veggies, we are trying to eat more meatless meals and more healthily. Her blog is amazing to me and often intimidating but I don’t let that stop me. I read it like I’m studying a book, probably because I can’t pronounce half the stuff she makes and have no idea what the ingredients are so I end up googling them and learning so much about new foods and food combinations. She also provides lots of links to other blogs so the amazing food journey never seems to end. If you want to learn more about healthy recipes this is a good place to start.
I know its not 10 blogs but those are the ones that I wanted to share with you today.

I’m old enough to be your mother and I feel like some star-struck Tween who’s just been acknowledged by…I don’t know…Justin Bieber…isn’t he the hottest thing going for tweens right now? Seriously, I love your blog! It’s an inspiration. Also, I almost gushed over your heirloom bean collection but restrained myself. As an heirloom gardener (in the making…it’s very hard here in Florida) I can totally appreciate your affection for the lesser known varieties of any fruit, veggie or legume. Keep up the good work.
