Cheesy Pork Chops

I was cruising through the recipes at 5 Dollar Dinners  and Angie’s Cheesy Pork Chops recipe caught my eye and since I had all the ingredients I added it to our menu last week.  I was skeptical because I thought they might come out too bland but sometimes less can be more so I went with it.  DH thought it was pretty good but when it was all said and done, I think either some kind of herb or spice is needed because it just needs a little extra “umph”.  Plain salt and pepper didn’t cut it.  I wouldn’t hesitate to make them again because of how fast and easy they were to put together but I think next time I’ll add a couple dashes of Chipotle Tobasco to each chop.  I think the slight heat and warm smokiness would go perfect with the sour cream and cheese.  I also made one small change to the recipe…I added a little vegetable oil to the bottom of the baking dish to keep the lean pork from sticking.

**WARNING**  Ugly nightime kitchen pics!  Anybody who tries to photograph food inside, at night, knows what I’m talking about.  Believe me, they tasted better than the pictures look.

I served them with a box of Shells and Cheese from the Pantry and a Cucumber Salad with added tomato because it needed to get used up.
